This is a slide from Vince's presentation.
I was very happy to find out The Rhythm Center and the Mobile Symphony were recently featured in a presentation on digital media at the
League of American Orchestras’ annual conference.
Vince Ford, Director of Digital Media at the New York Philharmonic, gave two presentations on “exploring how orchestras can use technology. Day 1 was focused on developing and nurturing community through social media. Day 2 covered strategic planning over 12-24 months.” In the day 2 presentation Vince highlighted the composition project I did with the Westlawn first and second grade students in the Mobile Symphony Preludes program. If you are not familiar with the project then
here is a link to the article and the videos of the music created by the Westlawn students.
You can visit Vince’s website to look through his presentations. I just looked through his material and he provides information that is useful for most every business regardless of whether you are in the Arts or not. If you are an educator or musician his information is also extremely useful in helping you reach more students and promote your services.
Vincent, we have never met. But if you read this little post, thanks for using my work with the Mobile Symphony as a good example of social media.
